Geisha in bath

Tecnique: Oil and charcoal on canvas. Oil spatula painting. The sign gesture with a charcoal drawing infuses lightness.

Product Story

Begun in 2011, the Geisha series was birthed from the need to lighten the painting by strong gestures & passion. It was a moment of transition, where color had to give way to line, and force had to give way to sensuality. So began a long study of the Geisha as a feminine archetype. This was a delicate work of poetic synthesis, where constant study birthed multiple subtleties which are normally hidden by a multitude of needless and superfluous details. Most of the feedback I received, helped me to continue on this path, expressing myself honestly, yet leaving some things hidden and invisible. The clarity of skin, the intense glances, the plunging necklines, are elements that remind us instinctively of something that belongs to everyone. Through this work, I began to appreciate a deliberate pace, composure, and silence.

Product Information

This work gets a special flavor thanks to the Oil on Arches paper technique. This painting infuses grace in the ambient.
